The New City Jazzmen West Sussex Dec 2011

Post by Nevis » Thu Dec 15, 2011 9:49 pm

I've had such a lovely evening. :clap I went along to Queens Square to film 'The New City Jazzmen" :glasses on the bandstand. Due to circumstances beyond anybody's control, the lights on the bandstand wouldn't come on (despite the best efforts of Alfredo, a top Council guy who really, really tried...) :scratch

The New City Jazzmen were the first ever band to play at the bandstand, and tonight was their swansong.
I have never seen a band play in the dark before (although a torch was later found) and the crowd absolutely loved them :kiss
What a lovely bunch of people they are :notworthy (I'm guessing some of them are in their 80's). Anyway, being the troopers that they are, they carried on ....much to my delight and those watching. :applause :applause :applause
New City Jazzmen. You were F.A.B. Your rendition of "What a wonderful world" left me in tears. :clap

I make no apologies for the quality of the filming, I didn't want to edit out one single second of this historical moment.
To me, the sound mattered more. xxxx
