Great day out for kids and big kids

Post by Amethyst » Sun Jul 19, 2015 4:59 am

Hi All,

Thought I'd share a recent day out experience which we had when we visited the lovely and picturesque Southwater County Park.

It's was a lovely sunny day and following a short drive to the 90 acres of paradise. all with easy parking when you arrive :aok .

You are met with a lovely glistening lake, where you can hire canoes and kayaks if the mood takes you.
After a short walk round the lake we were met with sound of children squealing in delight at a small 'beach' area where you can relax and picnic, build sand castles and mess around. There is a section of the lake that is netted off so you can go swimming safely, and the children were able to cool off from the sun!

A little further round are more lakes with ducks and swans and a new Dinosaur park for big kids! :thunbsup

Back round the lake there is a cafe for your obvious ice cream and refreshments! :yum :burger

All in all a fab day and it's free!
