Eureka

A tree is beautiful, but what’s more, it has a right to life; like water, the sun and the stars, it is essential. Life on earth is inconceivable without trees. Forests create climate, climate influences peoples’ character, and so on and so forth. There can be neither civilization nor happiness if forests crash down under the axe, if the climate is harsh and severe, if people are also harsh and severe ... What a terrible future!

'What a terrible future'
myZone along with many information sources have written much in an attempt to highlight the problems caused by plastic pollutants. Human waste discarded junk cluttering the beaches, floating islands of waste polluting oceans, seas and rivers adding to this ongoing calamity. Rubbish dumped strewn in the green areas and parks at home all types of rubbish littering our streets. While without doubt a sad subject to view or write about, especially experiencing the devastating effect it has on the planet, ruining the environment for future generations, wildlife and more… While all things subject-wise relating to this issue mainly erring on the negative [Panic_.gif] Eureka :notworthy :applause scientists at Swansea University have come to the rescue. Albeit, a first step and early days in solving this environmental catastrophe a direct result of plastic waste. Independent ‘Scientists at Swansea University believe they have found a way to conquer the problem of the billions of tons of plastic waste generated every year into by converting it into hydrogen’. While being the most abundant element in the universe back here on the rock we call home money is a influencing factor in that the old way offers bigger profit vis a vie less cost in energy production.
These wonderful people at Swansea Uni who are developing this ground-breaking and new recycling technique where any plastic waste clean or soiled can be recycled into Hydrogen. The technique uses ‘nano particles’ and this along with sunlight and some other stuff converts plastic waste into hydrogen gas. Win Win Win giving :aok throwing a lifeline from plastic blight  a self sustaining system of clean 100% reusable materials and energy. :clap This technology is slowly scaling up to the demands of the future Hydrogen fuel cells are currently used to fuel electric cars and is growth in the American car industry The Toyota Mirai fuel cell vehicle is a forerunner in the market :kiss

Toyota Motor North America, Inc- LONG BEACH, Calif. (Nov. 30, 2017) TMNA will build the world’s first megawatt-scale carbonate fuel cell power generation plant with a hydrogen fueling station to support its operations at the Port of Long Beach. Announced today at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Tri-Gen facility will use bio-waste sourced from California agricultural waste to generate water, electricity and hydrogen.

When it comes online in 2020, Tri-Gen will generate approximately 2.35 megawatts of electricity and 1.2 tons of hydrogen per day, enough to power the equivalent of about 2,350 average-sized homes and meet the daily driving needs of nearly 1,500 vehicles. The power generation facility will be 100% renewable, supplying Toyota Logistics Services’ (TLS) operations at the Port and making them the first Toyota facility in North America to use 100% renewable power.

“For more than twenty years, Toyota has been leading the development of fuel cell technology because we understand the tremendous potential to reduce emissions and improve society,” said Doug Murtha, group vice president- Strategic Planning. “Tri-Gen is a major step forward for sustainable mobility and a key accomplishment of our 2050 Environmental Challenge to achieve net zero CO2 emissions from our operations.”
(Hydrogen can be produced from natural gas, coal, biomass and oil. And it can be produced from renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, geothermal and hydro-electric power. Google)

Hydrogen fuel cells power the shuttle's electrical systems, producing a clean byproduct - pure water, which the crew drink. :yum
Hydrogen propelled aircraft have already flown and the goal to have passenger jets use hydrogen fuel is being developed. One small step towards repairing the damage caused to the environment through :director ignorance contempt and disregard [surrender.gif]
