On Friday 20 March 2020, the chancellor announced a new package of business support measures to help business during the economic crisis created by corona virus. An important part of the package is the Corona virus Job Retention Scheme (or ‘furlough leave’). Furlough leave is a temporary leave of absence for economic reasons and is designed to save jobs.
