A shop assistant refused to let a six-year-old girl help her mother buy a box of Christmas crackers – because of laws banning the sale of "explosives" to children

Crackers 4 sure I've never heard of any instances of anybody being injured while pulling a cracker.
One might presume now caps are out of bounds to the under 18s and probably spud guns to
what next pea shooters

Dunno about pea-shooters yet but here is another example of our over bearing state: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... lergy.html :D

Loads and loads of other examples of so-called "do-gooders", trying to stop conker fights for various other nebulous reasons around too ;)

And there are more, loads more. Apparently girls, or boys, shouldn't make daisy chains these days because of the terrible (potential?) risk involved with Children contacting plants, which might be a bit dirty

Hopscotch, marbles and leapfrog amongst other games are now taboo according to: http://www.britishcouncil.org/poland-tr ... onkers.htm

It just makes me pleased that I grew up before all this rubbish came about. I really feel sorry for the present generation of Children who will be deprived of the fun we had as kids :(

Recently a news report highlights a issues surrounding criminal gangs set out to defraud.
Criminal gangs are cold calling over the telephone inviting individuals to purchase virus protection software.
Posing as a legitimate software organisation they offer fake security software that can be downloaded for around £30.
Combined with the credit card information gained from the sale along with stolen personal info
(eg) passwords & banking details they then set out to defraud the customer or commit more complex scams.
'Pickings are many' resulting in some gangs having even set up scam call centres employing as many as 400 staff to defraud en-masse.
Even some web masters have been tricked to advertising fake software online, fraudsters are paying as much as 80k to the advertisers
indicating that the scam profits must be greater than this amount.
