Alas, the poor Steinway hasn't seen much polish recently!

The music-room as we call it to sound posh is Carol's refuge from all the renovation work here and is the least dusty part of the house but is still pretty dusty :-D One day we'll be finished and I'll be scratching around for things do do but that day is a long, long way away!

It's beautiful. You've both done an excellent job on that room. :thumbsup :applause

Thanks Nevis, it was quite a bit of work to get that room done. When we moved in here the floor had been bodged countless times and there was evidence of dry-rot underneath :o There was no way that the floor could have held a 480kg piano :no

I took the whole lot out, rebuilt the sleeper walls, replaced all the joists, treated everything with some foul chemical against further attacks. Then I replaced all the plumbing so that the radiators actually did something and the pipes were insulated underfloor as well as adding two vertical radiators (out of shot in the photo). I had to remove a skip's worth of rubble from previous bad building work that was the main cause of damp problems, not to mention a re-wire and the addition of twelve extra sockets plus phone, TV and internet. That was just the floor!

I had to skim the ceiling to obliterate 70's gross artexing after removing the fake, 70's again, heavy pub style dark wooden beams before I could get on with decorating!

All in all, about three months of hard slog on my own. It came out nice in the end and as I said - it is Carol's refuge and I rarely go in there these days :rotfl

Thanks for your nice comments :thumbsup
