Robert Metcalf.
Born in Preston Lancaster in 1831. Age 25 years and 7 months.
Height 6ft, complexion fresh, eyes hazel, hair dark brown, scar under left ear. Can read and write, married with one child, lives in Liverpool.
Never worked in public service. Regiment 39th Foot for 4 and a half years. No pension. Discharged from the Regiment 20th May 1852.
Last employed by David Irwin in Preston. Never served in the Police Force before.
Date of appointment 1st December 1856. Date of removal from the Force 3rd April 1877.
Remarks. Advanced to 1st Grade Constable 9th Jan 1857, promoted to Sergeant from the 1st Feb 1859.
Resigned.

Thomas Dixon Turner.
Born in Wakefield, Yorkshire in 1829, Age 27 years and 1 month. Height 6ft 1 in, complexion fresh, eyes grey, hair light brown, no marks,
trade Butcher, can read and write, married with 2 children, living in Kirkgate, Wakefield, no public service, no Regiment.
Self employed, in Wakefield. Never served in the Police Force before.
Date of appointment 1st December 1856. Date of removal from Force 20th May 1857.
Resigned.

Born in Oulton, Yorkshire in 1834. Age 22 years and 9 months. Height 5ft 10 ins. Complexion fair, eyes grey, hair dark brown. no marks.
Trade Farmer, can read and write. Married with one child, living in Oulton. No public service, no Regiment.
Last employed by David Chadwick in Oulton. Never served in the Police Force before.
Date of appointment 1st Dec 1856. Date of removal from Force 22nd March 1876.
Remarks. Advanced from 3rd to 2nd Grade Constable 1st Nov 1857. Advanced from 2nd to 1st Grade 25th July 1862.
Appointed Good Conduct 1st Class 1st Jan 1872.
Died of disease of the heart. His widow was granted a Gratuity of £70.

Trade Labourer, can read and write, married, no children, living in Providence Street, Wakefield. No public service.
Regiment 2nd West York Militia for 2 years, discharged 6th October 1855. Last employed by W.J. Lamb in Wakefield.
Never served in the Police Force before. Date of appointment 1st Dec 1856. Date of removal from the Force 26th Feb 1861.
Remarks. Advanced from 3rd to 2nd Grade Constable from 1st Feb 1857. Advanced from 2nd to 1st Grade 1st May 1858.
Reduced from 1st to 2nd Grade 25th Sept 1859 for misconduct. Reduced from 2nd to 3rd on the 5th Feb 1861.
Resigned.

Born in Wakefield, Yorkshire in 1819. Age 37 years and 8 months. Height 5ft 11ins, complexion fresh, eyes blue,hair dark brown, no marks.
Trade Butcher, can read and write,, married with eight children, living at 7 Westgate, Wakefield, no public service.
No Regiment. Self employed in Wakefield. Never served in the Police Force before.
Date of appointment 1st Dec 1856. Date of removal from the Force 22nd Feb 1866. Advanced from 3rd to 2nd Grade Constable 1st April 1857.
Advanced from 2nd to 1st Grade 1st Sept 1857.
Resigned.

Last employed as a Constable in the Police Force in Ovenden.
Date of appointment 4th Dec 1856. Date of removal from Force 10th April 1869.
Advanced from 3rd to 1st Grade Constable 1st Sept 1857. Resigned through ill health. Received a Gratuity of £50.

Trade Quarryman, can read and write, married, no children, living at 59 Pincheon Street, Wakefield, no public service.
Last employed by John Pickles, Builder, in Wakefield. Have previously served in the Leeds Borough Police Force.
Date of appointment 1st Dec 1856. Date of removal from the force 1st March 1857.
Remarks. Dismissed, having previously been dismissed from other Police Force.
