Re: Crawley Town!

Crawley will play league two club Torquay away on Saturday 29th January. On paper this is an easier task than Derby, but Crawley will have to be careful not to slip up. If high flying Crawley do get promoted, they would be in League Two alongside mid-position Torquay next season so this is really a match of equals.

The fantastic run that Crawley has had in the FA Cup, has, no doubt, bolstered the club's finances and popularity, but their chief objective this season is to get promoted.

The bad weather, along with cancelled matches due to the FA Cup run threatens Crawley with a severe dose of "fixture indigestion" towards the end of the season, so it looks like Crawley will be very, very busy this year!

A nice problem to have, maybe!

COME ON YOU REDS :D

Crawley Town 2 - Kettering 1. Saturday was crucial for The Reds as they returned to the prime objective - "Project Promotion". After the heady success of knocking Derby out of the FA Cup, Crawley found themselves one goal down at half-time to the visitors. The second-half saw Crawley get into their stride with goals from Richard Brodie and Matt Tubbs to earn The Reds all three points. Assistant mananger Paul Raynor said; “It was a massive three points.”

This puts The Red Devils second in the league, one point behind Wimbledon, who earlier in the week only managed to scrape one point from their draw with Luton. One point behind, but a massive THREE games in hand!

Tomorrow (Tues) sees Crawley travel to 14th placed Bath City and hoping to get all the points from both meetings, whilst Wimbledon have on the face of it a tougher challenge away to 4th placed on-form Fleetwood Town who will give them a really tough time hopefully.

So Tuesday 18th Jan. is quite an important day... Watch this space!

CRAWLEY GO TOP !

A goal in each half for Matt Tubbs saw Crawley take the points at Bath. Bath 0 - Crawley 2.

Meanwhile, Fleetwood held Wimbledon to a 1-1 draw, but Luton had a bit of a bash, beating York 5-0.

Another very important result, well done Crawley :D

THE REDS GO MARCHING ON!

Torquay 0- Crawley Town 1

Amazing, it could have been 3 for Crawley as two second half penalties for Crawley were saved.

Matt Tubbs first half goal proved decisive in the end.

Crawley now progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup and join an elite group of non-league teams to have ever progressed this far, into the last sixteen.

A really big team will be next and the draw will be made tomorrow (Sun). I hope it's not Brighton as it would be great to have two local, Sussex, teams there but whoever it is....Bring it on!!!!

Fantastic "Boy's-Own comic" stuff!

FA Cup Draw.

I said that Crawley would get a big team. Well they don't come much bigger than Manchester United!

Crawley travel to Old Trafford, nicknamed the Theatre of Dreams by Bobby Charlton, on either the 19th or 20th Feb.

So we have The Red Devils vs The Red Devils!

What a match this is going to be and what an opportunity for a big upset, which probably won't happen but it is nice to dream :D
